I'm trying to decide if I liked the District tonight -- it wasn't bad, but it wasn't a great episode. It tackled the issue of Catholic Priests... well, in the news today, which is a tough issue. It seems impossible to touch on without touching God and religion as well. I had to agree with the remarks about why Priests can't have families... it is sad that dishonest clergymen ruined it for all those to come after them.
I think what got me more than the content was characters addressing the camera -- talking directly to the viewer, and yet we knew we weren't the one being spoken to. In almost every case what was said could easily have come out in dialogue between characters, and could have been at least as powerful if not more so -- and yet they decided to try something new, and at those times I felt like I was no longer watching an episode of district. Just some footage no one was sure where to put.
That was disappointing in a show I always like.

Totally ready for Firefly tonight -- especially since Joss Whedon said in a TVGuide.com interview that tonight's episdoe will explain how the crew came together.
Unfortunately we still won't know how Book, the Doctor and the doc's sister ended up on board -- those gems are in the unaired pilot tha I'd love to see.

I spent last night watching two weeks of JAG, the Guardian and Judging Amy so I'd be caught up and ready to rock and roll tonight on CBS... and I was, both caught up, ready and at the end of the evening delighted.
So many shows these days show SO MUCH... a lot of which the imagination could handle quite well. Though I must admit that Bud's land mine incident has been both compelling drama... and very intense, with a bit more being shown that the weak stomached can handle, and yet very clearly in the name of story, not just blood, gore... and more, simply for the sake of blood and gore and shock factors.

Jag Store Posted at PopArtsPlace.com
Found some fantastic pics of the stars available for sale through the web -- and you can even get a VHS tape of the pilot made for NBC. VERY COOL!
Jag has a good cast that comes together to make a great show -- I'll definitely be tuning in Tuesday night for JAG.

American Dreams -- I have to admit I'm enjoying this ride. The 60s is a time period I missed out on, but with the magic of television it is coming into my home, week in week out, in living color.
