An Article posted on Authorsden.com today.
Author Kay Kellam loves the picture windows in her office, but yesterday the windows to the outside world won out over windows XP on her computer.
Traditionally warm Austin, Texas, which had been 78 degrees just three short days ago, has experienced a sudden cold snap resulting in "freezing drizzle" and a beautiful winter wonderland effect covering the hillsides.
Two of Kay's pictures of the winter wonderland are appearing on the website of News8Austin (The photos appear in Photo Set C, which you can vote online for.)
Kay's photos are of the ice covered landscape captioned, Are we Really in Texas? and a gazebo standing tall amid the winter wonderland.
If you'd like to send one of these as an e-card Go here or here and select the album with Kays Photos.

Catching up on Passions on NBC...
This is a show that doesn't know what to do with the character Gwen, which might explain, at least in part, why two actresses have vacated the role!
The initial actress has returned, and at first she brought a spark with her, clear joy to have returned to the role, but either she or the writers has taken a turn for the worse in recent days. When a character doesn't recall the past, in the least, but approaches every scene with whatever angle they like it becomes less and less fun to watch.
Gwen knew that Ivy would do ANYTHING to remain in the house, and yet she only briefly considers that Ivy might have done... well, anything, to stay in the house, and seems to instantly rule it out as an option. The actress never wavers in her condimnation of Theresa, making this seemingly the fault of both the writers and the actress.
But several times recently Gwen has been in the background of shots, with reactions that just don't make sense. Delighting in twists of fate that she should feel bad about, buddying up to Fox whom she claims to dislike, and yet she's chatting with him, and even getting protective of the young man she can't stand?? Again it is coming from both the writers and the actress. And while the actress can do little about the words, she could use her eyes, and body language, to convey a depth, an inner quandry, something to show that she acknowledges that she is not particularly fond of Fox, but she wouldn't want even her worst enemy to be sucked in. But the words came out as though they were old chums... and the body language did nothing to betray the words.
I'll keep watching, but once again Gwen is becoming less and less fun to watch... and the character has such potential, if they could just show that she is a lot like Sheridan, an innocent in so many ways, but Gwen has the beautiful opportunity to be torn within because she wants to be good and innocent, but there is a part of her that is like her mother. We've seen her enjoy her mother's schemes, and if they worked she'd still be enjoying them! This is the character who only went through with her wedding to Ethan because she refusd to let Theresa win! That is an element of the character that could add depth and interest, if they'd just use it, as opposed to having her be wherever they need her on the emotional board.

Just a last bit of typing for the night...
I've gotten several very nice messages from people who have checked out my images of Lana Clarkson -- which is very cool.
She was an amazing woman, and I still can't believe she is gone, but it is nice to know that there are others who haven't forgotten the strength of her smile.
Getting ready for MegaCon.
Well, Friday (aka Feb 28) MegaCon starts in Orlando Florida, and it's time for me to be getting ready to cover it for PopArtsPlace.com a job I'm enjoying more and more as time goes by.
Though I must confess, having heard a rumor that thunderstorms are headed for Orlando does dampen my enthusiasm ever so slightly.
