Finally, teens believe they are getting heard... and that is a powerful, and perhaps both amazing and wonderful thing!

Whether you like Billy Gilman, country music, or pop music, it doesn't matter. Read this card, listen to the message, and even hear the song. It's about life and how the world should be. http://www2.fanscape.com/billygilman/card.html

Just got a message from fellow author, and friend, James Rollins:

First up is the release of AMAZONIA in paperback. Its release date is June 24th, but I expect you'll probably see the book appearing on shelves at some stores as early as today or tomorrow. For those unfamiliar with the novel, here is a brief synopsis from the back cover:

The Rand scientific expedition entered the lush wilderness of the Amazon and never returned. Years later, one of its members has stumbled out of the world's most inhospitable rainforest--a former Special Forces soldier, scarred, mutilated, terrified, and mere hours from death, who went in with one arm missing...and came out with both intact. Unable to comprehend this inexplicable event, the government sends Nathan Rand into this impenetrable secret world of undreamed-of perils, to follow the trail of his vanished father...toward mysteries that must be solved at any cost. But the nightmare that is awaiting Nate and his team of scientists and seasoned U.S. Rangers dwarfs any danger they anticipated; an ancient unspoken terror--a power beyond human imagining--that can forever alter the world beyond the lethal confines of...AMAZONIA.

Some nice reviews:
"AMAZONIA grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go until the very last page is turned."
--Lincoln Child, co-author of THE RELIC and STILL LIFE WITH CROWS
"A first-rate nail-biter"
--the Tampa Tribune
"The action never relents."
--Clive Cussler

Also coming out is the debut in hardback of my latest novel, ICE HUNT, on July 1st. I'm very proud of this novel, which concerns the discovery of a lost WWII-era Russian research station buried in the heart of an iceberg trapped in the northern Polar Ice Cap. Here is a sneak peek at the cover copy and a couple early reviews:

Buried deep in the earth's polar ice cap--carved into a moving island of ice twice the size of the United States--is a secret place, the site of a remarkable abandoned experiment that could have frightening ramifications for the planet. The brain trust of the former Soviet Union who created the seventy-year-old Ice Station Grendel would like it simply to melt from human memory. But that becomes impossible when an American undersea research vessel, the Polar Sentinel, inadvertently pulls too close to the hollowed-out iceberg... and one of the crew sees something alive inside. Something that never should have survived.

It is a discovery that sends shock waves through the intelligence communities of two powerful nations, as American and Russian scientists, soldiers, and unsuspecting civilians are pulled into Grendel's vortex of secrets, violence, and betrayal. To preserve the silence--to prevent others from uncovering the terrible mysteries locked behind submerged walls of ice and steel--no measures will be too extreme. For within the station, experiments have blurred the line between life and death. It was place never meant to be found.

One man already knows too much: Matthew Pike, a former American Special Forces operative, living in seclusion in Alaska on the edge of the Arctic Circle. On the run after rescuing the survivor of a plane crash no one was meant to observe, Pike is relentlessly drawn into the eye of the gathering storm--even as a Russian nuclear attack submarine draws silently nearer to the men and women on the Polar Sentinel. The covert battle over Grendel is spinning out of control, and the future of all human life on Earth will be altered--or destroyed--once its nighmarish truths are revealed.

A masterful blending of science and adventure, suspense and explosive page-turning excitement, James Rollins's ICE HUNT is a novel that will chill readers to the bone, holding them in its icy grip from the first sentence to its final startling twist.

Some early reviews:

"Rollins writes with intelligence, clarity, and a refreshing sense of humor. He front loads his best shocks but stocks the last chunk of the book with surprise twists."
--Kirkus Reviews

"Rollins delivers another fantastic tale of action and adventure. New readers will be delighted and established fans will find exactly what they have come to expect: a fun and fast-paced story that is full of suspense."
--Booklist

The Young and The Restless...

I made that mistake I just have to make from time to time... even though I'm over a month behind on tapes of Y&R I read a soap magazine and found out the storyline was going in a direction I feared they'd veer off into.

Jill being Katherine's daughter may be an awesome storyline for those two characters, but for those of us who LOVE the Billy Mac couple this is devastating news! I'd adjusted to the new faces on some favorite old characters... but now they are being forced off the canvas to create a storyline that I can't help but wonder if they couldn't have done something else with! Heck, almost anything else in terms of Billy and Mac.

It also leaves me wondering, haven't I heard tell that Brock and Jill used to be a romantic item???

Home at last!

I'm back in Texas having enjoyed most of a week on the outerbanks, seen two more state capitols (three if you count the old and new state capitol buildings in Frankfurt, Kentucky) and now I'm ready to sleep for a few days and recover from all those miles!
