Immortal (DVD)

Putting TV shows on DVD seems to be all the rage, you can even get The Immortal, (I think this is the first episode only, the DVD runs 85 minutes, so it certainly isn't an entire season) the short lived Lorenzo Lamas show, on DVD.

I never watched the show when it was on the air, it was showing at midnight in my area, but having worked with Lorenzo I may just pick it up on DVD to see how good it was... or wasn't.

Jennie Garth Poster

Sometimes TV shows make changes that are wonderful and you are delighted to see, other times they make changes that make you just wonder what on earth they were thinking.

While I enjoyed this weeks episode of What I Like About You I miss Val's boyfriend from early last year. He was a fun character, and I just didn't get that vibe from any of the new characters that have come in. But I'm hopeful that the show will come its funny beat, as I LOVED Holly (Amanda Bynes) telling the "expert on child raising" all the reasons Val was a much better gaurdian. It was well done, and very well said.

Star Trek - Star Trek - Enterprise, Crew ( Poster )

I am among the first to say Enterprise is a far from perfect show... but this weeks episode caught me off guard, mostly because I was afraid we were going to spend the entire season hitting anomalies caused by the expanse, and wondering why on Earth the ship entered it, especially now that we know the mist is a "one way ticket" in.

But this episode could have taken place last season, or the one before -- in fact it had a lot in common with a previous episode in which Archer imagined a woman saying they were being hunted unfairly. It also had a lot in common with Picard living an entire lifetime as a member of an alien race... but then again, so many episodes in a show like trek, with such a long, and I suppose rich history, between the 4 previous series, is bound to have similarities to previous episodes. There are only so many plots, and so many twists, and if you count each twist or idea as something new or old, in the course of what... 20 season on TV, the trek universe has undoubtedly used a few.

I enjoyed spending an hour ignoring the fact we were in the expanse, and just telling the story of a race that did whatever it took to survive, even if it was something we could never abide by.

A part of me wants Dr. Phlox to play around with that virus, and transform it such that it only affects people who want to start a new life in a new place, people who would embrace the opportunity to be a part of a different culture, people who want to ressurect this dead society. It could be very interesting to see who, if anyone, would take the chance.

Just a thought.

I haven't had a chance to see Bend It Like Beckham yet -- but Keira Knightley is one VERY talented young lady -- so I can't wait to check it out on DVD.

Grab a Bend It Like Beckham Buddy Icon... and pick up the DVD when it comes out Sept 30.
