A place for Kay to experiment with being a blogger. (Designed for 800x600 resolution at this point... mostly because I haven't found a way to make a background that also looks good at 1024x768)

Sugar Free Sugar Cookies -- not my best to date.
While an intereting experiment, my sugar free sugar cookies need a bit of help -- though I will confess, I feel a lot less guilty when I eat them!

Firefly...
It seems quite possible that the TV show Firefly, which we know to have been cancelled, aired it's last episode tonight.
As pointed out to me by the friend I watch TV with on Friday nights, it does seem ironic that the final episode to air, was the pilot which sold the show to the powers that be in the first place.
It wasn't the greatest show ever aired, but there was enough there to make me continue to think this is a show I want to tune in to. Here's hoping Joss Whedon gets either UPN or the WB interested, or worst case scenario gets into talks with SciFi Channel.

Having Celiac Disease sucks at times -- though has definitely taught me creativity.
So I've learned that 3/4 cut rice flour = 1 cup wheat flour, and I'm still lovin' my Sugar Cookies, which have now found their way to the underside of some really great tasting icing. So remain happy with my experiments.
Tomorrow is a new day -- and a new experiment. Vanilla Wafers! Amazing the little things in life you realize you miss when you are faced with most likely never having them again!

Gluten Free Sugar Cookies...
I made sugar cookies with Rice Flour today, and must admit this is one experiment in the kitchen I'll happily repeat!

My last real trip to the post office.
Okay, in typical me fashion, my Christmas cards have not even been created (yes I'm a make them at home type, usually featuring some photo from the past 11 months on the front, with a message inside) much less addressed, stamped, and sent out into the world -- but all the present that need mailing are, to my knowledge, mailed!
It feels GREAT! Standing in line at the post office didn't feel so great -- but in a mere 15 minutes I was up at the counter and loving it!
So now I've a few more presents to warp for local family and friends and then I'm totally set for the holiday to be upon us!

The Man who Saved Christmas I took two hours out tonight from hand making presents for family and loved ones to watch this movie on CBS -- and I have to admit if it wasn't feeling like Christmas time before, it certainly does now. The movie had a few slow points -- but none too slow, none that lost me, just time to reflect and appreciate the tale they tried to bring home.
